Why RCA?

“I work at RCA because I want my children to experience the excellent education and loving community that is obvious in every part of our school. I’m excited for new families to visit RCA and see first-hand the difference that Christ-centered classical education can make in the lives of our students.” -Mr. Brooks, Head of School

Rooted in Tradition

We often say that we “learn the old way and love old things.”

We learn the old way by rooting our academic programs in practices that have stood the test of time. Our lower school students learn phonics, grammar, and cursive in order to build a strong foundation for reading and writing at a high level. We also teach art and music theory at a young age so that students can intuitively create beautiful works when they’re older. We believe that every student can thrive academically and artistically when they’re given the right tools, and the results in our classrooms prove it!

We love old things by learning from the wisdom of those that have gone before us. Our students read the books and sing the hymns that have survived hundreds or even thousands of years and still speak to us today. Caring for the Whole Person

At RCA, we believe that God made us complete people with passions, talents, skills, and emotions that should be encouraged at school. It is easy to teach facts and figures, it is another thing entirely to instill a sense of wonder, curiosity, and joy in our students.

We educate the whole person–all of our students learn the humanities and math, but also how to sing, play an instrument, speak in public, and even how to cook and make stained glass. Our students are encouraged to follow their passions, whether that be creative writing or making board games. Our teachers do more than dispense facts. They love, care for, encourage, and mentor our students in how to follow Christ. The result is an undeniable culture of joy and mutual care.
