We have found for our daughter that the investment in a Christian classical education is worth every penny.

– Isaac, parent

RCA has a wonderful balance of familial warmth and rigorous standards of education. Psalm 127 says “like arrows in the hand of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is he whose quiver is full of them.” Further blessing is given when those arrows are sharpened, and RCA does a great job of sharpening! We have found for our daughter that the investment in a Christian classical education is worth every penny.

It has been wonderful to see her excitement for learning that I didn’t see as much before.

– Annie, parent

We have been thrilled with the classical education techniques, Biblical studies, godly staff and implementation of family involvement. Our daughter is now thriving at RCA with learning, classmates, and teachers. It has been wonderful to see her excitement for learning that I didn’t see as much before. She is reading every chance she gets. When she comes home she has such an excitement to learn and grow and it is a beautiful thing to see. RCA encourages families to volunteer in the classroom which I have loved to be able to do. This has been the best experience for our daughter that I could have imagined.
What I enjoy most about volunteering in the RCA classrooms is experiencing what a great job the teachers do with the children. I am so impressed with how they are able to keep the children on track and keep them engaged. I find myself learning new things and enjoying the material being taught along with the students.

RCA teachers provide a safe space for the children. While all students’ creativity and passion is encouraged, the teachers gently and effectively maintain order; and, no one student is allowed to override another or disrupt the class. Students receive a grounding in Christian principles. Learning scripture and worship is woven naturally into the day along with other curriculum. I have seen an improvement in my grandniece and nephew’s behavior and social skills since they have started attending RCA. They love school and look forward to going.

I am amazed at the caliber of education these children are receiving.

– Flo, classroom volunteer

I have been volunteering at the school since it opened. I am amazed at the caliber of education these children are receiving. I have even learned a thing or two!!

They are so engaged and love the learning environment. I also love that they wear uniforms (a great equalizer), are learning about values, kindness, and God’s way of dealing with any life situation. A very full and well rounded education.

I have visited RCA several times as a substitute teacher and I can say that RCA is developing the next generation of Christian students with the Biblical truths needed to thrive in the 21st century. The RCA teachers are welcoming and nurturing; they provide ample opportunities for student growth, academic achievement, and global citizenship. They seek to create an inclusive classroom environment where learning about Christ holds preeminence and instilling critical thinking and a passion for learning is embedded throughout their instruction. It is apparent that the Lord continues to honor and bless the staff, students, families, and community members that have joined the RCA team.

We appreciate that at RCA our kids are learning all subjects in the context of biblical truth and in light of the Gospel.

We appreciate that at RCA our kids are learning all subjects in the context of biblical truth and in light of the Gospel. We have seen first-hand how impactful it is in our kids’ lives to see faith in action. They learn history in the context of the world God created. They learn about the faith of leaders throughout history. They’re not just learning the Bible during a Bible lesson, but also during art, science, reading, and writing. We love that their faith does not need to be compartmentalized or saved for discussion only at home. We are thankful that our kids, as a result of this, have a firm grasp on the truth that God is with us in all that we do, and that our purpose is to glorify him and enjoy him forever.

At RCA, we believe that in order to engage the world effectively and not be consumed by it, the children of Christians need to be properly equipped spiritually and academically throughout childhood. By showing them the broad feast of knowledge God has put in front of us and giving them the tools for taking on any new field, we aim to raise up lifelong, joyful learners who celebrate and steward the gifts they have been given. Our curriculum leads to students whose thinking is clear and whose words are compelling, and who are equipped to lead lives of godly character and purpose for Christ and his kingdom. RCA is the best school option for Christian parents looking to prepare their children for an increasingly hostile world which also desperately needs Jesus.

As parents we still get to be readily involved in our kid’s schooling, but now they are getting so much more than we were able to do ourselves.

– Katie C, parent

We started our education journey at home and were excited to pursue Classical curriculum. While the Classical aspect was very successful for our kids, we noticed that home education may not be the best option for their needs. RCA came along at the perfect time for our children to get the classroom atmosphere they clearly needed without sacrificing the Classical educational model we desperately wanted to hold onto. As parents we still get to be readily involved in our kid’s schooling, but now they are getting so much more than we were able to do ourselves. That, paired with the Biblical foundation that now exists at home, at church and at their school, makes Rochester Classical Academy the best place for our children to learn and grow.
Rochester Classical Academy is just the sort of school to which we had hoped to send our daughter. Moreover, our daughter is always excited to go to school! For one thing, she loves RCA’s themed weeks. During Space Week, our daughter had great fun learning about and even putting together models of constellations, and in Dragon Week, she not only learned the lore of dragons and knights but also made her own cardboard shield, wooden sword, and other knightly accouterments. But these craft projects have been more than just fun; they have truly developed our daughter’s skills and concentration. What is more, with plentiful unstructured playtime, our daughter has learned to be both kind and cooperative with others, regardless of their age. The games my daughter and her classmates create through collaboration and compromise are simply a joy to witness. Even more, RCA makes music and storytelling an essential part of every school day; and we just love that our daughter is developing her memory by reciting nursery rhymes, songs, and prayers. Best of all, all of this is done with our daughter’s intellectual and Christian formation in mind. We very much look forward to watching our daughter continue to grow and flourish at RCA!

RCA is like nothing I’ve ever experienced in education. In our Pre-K room, we’ve had an igloo, a rocket ship, icebergs; my child is full of wonder and delight as her teacher goes far beyond my expectations. The lessons are naturally infused with worship, prayer, Scripture, and Biblical teachings on character because they are natural to every teacher, parent, child, and volunteer. My daughter is surrounded by Christ at home, at church, and at school and will the inclusion of Christ in all things as the norm in her life.
Teaching at RCA is indescribable. Having the freedom to teach the students in a way that not only honors God, but is the way God intended for them to learn has opened my eyes to a new understanding of their true capabilities and potential. I love that I am learning right along with them. It shows them that you never stop learning. To see them as they discover how a flower points to Jesus, how the changing leaves points to Jesus, how the roots, seasons, history, music all point to Jesus is a testament to God’s presence here. They are seeing the Lord in everything they encounter. They look at a painting and say it reminds them of creation. They encourage each other and go out of their way to serve each other, even when there is no need because they just want to serve others. I am constantly amazed by the questions they ask and the connections to Christ they make.

Ms. Painter is wonderful. Her creative side truly comes out as a labor of love.

– Kellie, classroom volunteer

Ms. Painter is wonderful. Her creative side truly comes out as a labor of love. I volunteer during lunch so the teachers can have a break. There were several times she was happy to hang out with the kids during her break. She genuinely enjoys being around the kids. She puts in a lot of effort to come up with fun and engaging activities to aid in their learning. She is such a blessing to this beautiful school community!
